Drifteliminator

The drifteliminator fulfills the task of largely separating water droplets entrained by the cooling air and returning them to the cooling tower.

The drifteliminator is arranged over the entire surface above the water distribution. The cooling air loaded with water droplets is deflected several times inside the drifteliminator. During the process, the droplets collect on the surfaces of the drifteliminator and are separated from the air stream. The design of the drifteliminator has been optimized for the flow conditions in the cooling tower. The droplet separator offered, which is made of PVC honeycomb packets (see illustration), meets the requirement for the specified high degree of separation while maintaining a low pressure drop. The assured drift rate of the drifteliminator can reach up to a maximum of 0.005 % of the cooling water mass flow, depending on the type installed.
